Omacom’s August launch has accumulated further support. Its September 7 update puts pledges and donations at approximately $15.5 million, including token credits. That headline total is not a statement that $15.5 million of unrestricted cash is already in the bank.

Separate the kinds of support
The updated launch page and September 7 update describe personal contributions, multiyear corporate pledges and AI token allocations. The foundation supports Omarchy’s infrastructure and projects it depends on.
The latest addition includes OpenRouter token credits valued at $150,000 and Four Technologies’ commitment of $100,000 a year for three years. These support different needs and schedules. Token credits do not pay a maintainer’s rent, and a three-year promise is not three years of cash received on day one.
For an original accounting example, a fictional project offered $300,000 across three years plus $150,000 of compute credits can describe $450,000 of support. It cannot infer a $450,000 first-year payroll budget. The cash schedule, permitted uses and availability of the credits all matter. This example explains the distinction, not Omacom’s actual bank balance or accounts.
Hyprland’s transition has a start date
Omacom’s sponsorship announcement specifies an October 10 takeover, a three-year term and an option for two more years. It says the arrangement will allow Hyprperks’ paid subscriptions to end and the program to become free.
The Hyprland support page still offers Hyprperks at this review date. That is consistent with a future transition, not evidence that subscriptions already ended in August. The core compositor is already free and open source; the sponsorship should not be described as removing a paywall from all of Hyprland.
Funding continuity is different from software fit
Supporting an upstream dependency can benefit users outside the sponsoring distribution. Sustained maintainer time can make work possible, but money does not by itself prove a larger number of maintainers, a particular release schedule or compatibility with your desktop setup.
For users, follow the actual transition instructions and releases relevant to their installation. For assessing the foundation, distinguish published commitments, resources received and spending reports as they become available. The revised headline records the growing support while keeping its different forms visible.
Update total to approximately $15.5m in pledges/donations including tokens; Hyprland sponsorship starts October 10, not an already-ended Hyprperks program.
